When we say: We see anything, which fits through the door; we mean ANYTHING! We are proud to say we are among the few area veterinarians who welcome exotic pets into our hospital. Hamsters, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, birds, reptiles, amphibians and any other types of pets are encouraged to be brought in for both wellness and sick pet exams.

In case of exotic emergency, please call our office and one of our doctors will be there to assist you and your pet! Otherwise, call: (914) 864-1414 in order to be connected with The Veterinary Center for Birds and Exotics in Bedford, NY.

Most exotic pets do not need to be vaccinated, with the exception of ferrets. In Connecticut, all ferrets should be vaccinated for the rabies virus. Additionally, it is recommended ferrets receive yearly inoculations against canine distemper (yes, I said “canine”).
